We're currently seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician to help open and maintain a brand-new apartment community in Lawrence, NJ (just outside Trenton).

This role is ideal for a reliable, multi-trade generalist who wants to get in at the ground level of a new building and help set the standard from day one. Responsibilities

• Complete day-to-day residential maintenance across electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting

• Respond to service requests and turn work orders efficiently using Yardi

• Serve as the primary on-call technician for after-hours maintenance needs

• Support building upkeep including light grounds work and seasonal tasks like shoveling and salting walkways

• Help establish maintenance routines and standards as the community finishes lease-up and stabilizes

Qualifications

• Around 5+ years of hands-on maintenance experience (multifamily, residential, facilities, handyman, student housing, or contract backgrounds welcome)

• Comfortable working across the core trades: electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting

• Willing to use Yardi or similar software to manage and close work orders (no paper-only workflows)

• Able to live on-site and start in the rent-free apartment after a 30-day introductory period

• Comfortable serving as the primary on-call technician and handling physical tasks including snow removal

Perks

• Total compensation range of approximately $43,000 per year plus the value of a rent-free on-site apartment after 30 days (equivalent to $21/hour)

• Monday to Friday schedule (approximately 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM) with a light weekend trash-room check on your own timing
