At Percy, we're building new ways to connect talented professionals with meaningful career opportunities at leading companies in the multifamily industry. We're currently seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician to support a brand-new apartment community in Trenton, NJ, with free on-site housing included.
This is a ground-floor lease-up opportunity where the first month will focus more on getting the site ready than heavy repairs: setting up the maintenance shop and office, learning building systems, and helping prepare for the first move-ins. After that initial setup period, you’ll transition into standard multifamily maintenance work orders and unit turns across a 100+ unit community.
If you'd like to be considered, please submit a resume for review.
Responsibilities
Support new-community setup during the first 30 days, including basic site readiness, furniture/equipment setup, and systems learning
Complete service requests and troubleshoot issues across electrical, plumbing, and general repairs
Perform unit turns and help maintain curb appeal and common areas
Coordinate supply runs and pickups as needed (Home Depot, parts vendors, etc.)
Deliver strong customer service and professionalism once residents begin moving in
Qualifications
1+ year of hands-on residential maintenance experience (or adjacent facilities/maintenance background in hospital, hotel, or industrial settings)
Working knowledge of electrical and plumbing (required)
Valid driver’s license and access to an insured personal vehicle (required)
Ability to live on-site after an initial 30-day introductory period (rent covered; utilities paid by employee)
Must live within a reasonable commute of Trenton (about 30 to 45 minutes) during the first 30 days
Perks
Total compensation range of approximately $62,000 per year (includes base pay plus the value of a fully covered on-site 1BR or 2BR unit); top end includes $21/hour base pay
Free on-site 1BR or 2BR apartment after the initial 30-day period (rent covered; utilities paid by employee)
Summer Fridays with an early close around 1pm (seasonal, based on workload)
Fast interview process with two rounds (phone screen, then in-person)
Full benefits package including all major insurance, 401k, and PTO
